Author Guidelines & Submission Templates

Authors submitting to CJIT and CJSS must ensure their manuscripts conform strictly to the structural and ethical standards detailed below.

1. Manuscript Types & Word Limits

  • Original Empirical Articles: 6,000 – 9,000 words (including abstract, references, and appendices). Quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods empirical studies.
  • Conceptual & Theoretical Papers: 5,000 – 8,000 words proposing novel conceptual models or analytical frameworks.
  • Systematic Literature Reviews (SLR): 7,000 – 10,000 words adhering strictly to PRISMA guidelines.
  • Research Notes & Case Commentary: 3,500 – 5,000 words on emerging phenomena or policy debates.

2. Structural Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts should be organized following standard scholarly article format:

  1. Title: Concise, informative (maximum 15 words).
  2. Structured Abstract: 200–250 words covering Background, Purpose, Design/Methodology, Findings, Practical/Policy Implications, and Originality/Value.
  3. Keywords: 5–7 keywords in alphabetical order.
  4. Main Text: 1. Introduction, 2. Literature Review & Hypotheses/Framework, 3. Methodology & Data, 4. Empirical Results & Analysis, 5. Discussion, 6. Conclusion & Policy Implications.
  5. References: Strict APA 7th Edition style. DOIs must be provided for all referenced articles where available.

3. Anonymization for Double-Blind Review

To maintain the integrity of our double-blind review process, authors must remove all identifying information from the main manuscript text, including:

  • Author names, affiliations, email addresses, and bios.
  • References to the author's own institutions ("our university", "our previous project").
  • Document metadata in Word or PDF properties.

4. Publication Fee & Open Access Policy

CISR operates on a Diamond Open Access model. There are no submission fees and no Article Processing Charges (APCs) charged to authors. All published papers are made freely available worldwide under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
